Specifically, the 2025 Budget Law allocates approximately €12 billion to the Ministry of the Interior under Missions 3 and 4, which are respectively responsible for public security and the fight against domestic crime, border control, and the organisation and planning of national armed forces.
Additional funds, amounting to approximately €6 billion, fall under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and are allocated to combating tax evasion and money laundering, as provided for under Programmes 1.2 and 1.3 of the Ministry’s budget. The remaining share of expenditure is managed by other Ministries and is allocated to the maintenance of the Coast Guard and other bodies, as well as to expenditure related to fraud prevention and protection activities.
